I carry either my Leatherman, or Gerber multitool, when I'm not at work.... I'm an automotive technician, and have more than enough sharp impliments of doom, in my tool box.
I prefer my shotguns without a pistol grip...tried it a few times, not a fan.
And, my preference is the same, with my AR's. I just find it easier to control my rifles without the PG. Just how I'm used to shooting...though, everyone is different. ..
Now, I do have one of my AR,s outfitted...
When I was a little kid (8-10yrs old) I had a Daisy single pump, spring loaded BB rifle, and a Crossman pump pellet gun.
First legitimate gun I bought was a Ruger 10/22...still have it. I think I bought in Caldor?? when they were still in business, and I was 18??? LOL
I don't have pistols, but I have a decent amount of shotguns, ARs, and various other rifles. If I had to choose.....I'd grab the Remington 850, and an AR. I suppose those 2 would suffice. I'd have range, stopping power, and multiple shell options...birdshot, slugs, buckshot, and long range with...
So...I dont have a propane gen, but, I do have an 8500w Briggs and Stratton gas generator that I bought at Home Dumpo right before Hirricane Sandy hit. Good thing, too...I was without power for a week. That sucker pretty much ran my entire house! TV, HEAT, Electric Stove, Boiler, and quite a...
Hell, I wouldn't have to leave my house. I got turkey, rabbit, deer, right in my yard, every day, all day! And the Hudson River 5 blocks from my house, and Fahnstock park just 5 miles away..so, if I had to fish...I'm good there, too. Not that I'd want to eat much from the Hudson River, but, I...
My Father still has his huge Yeasu base unit, and a big Cobra base unit. Both from late 70s, early 80's. Still remember the day he brought that big ass Yeasu unit home! When my cousin was in the Air Force (during that era) he was the Load master on the C5 Galaxy. There were days we could...
Those LTD's were killer units! Think we still have a couple in the basement.
The "President" models were great, too. Even the older "Realistic" units were good. When Radio Shack actually sold real shit, instead of rc toys, and batteries.
Years ago Radio Shack had one of the best set of...
The older Cobra, Midland, and Uniden units were awesome! Sturdy, built to last, and the ones I have still work great, to this day, and those were from the 80's! Get a good ol' K40 antenna, and you're golden!
CB radios are still a great option. My Father used to repair them back in the 70s and 80's. ..we still have a stockpile of them, along with a boatload of antennas! And their range is pretty awesome. In a shtf scenario, they will certainly be installed in my vehicles.
As for backup, we have a...
I did the Garbage bag thing (in the driveway), and got most of the cos out, but, I got the same problem...After using the Mosin for a while, it still gets sticky, and tacky.
I was thinking more along the lines of 20 kegs of Heineken, inviting about 100 friends, catered food, tons of hot chicks, and throwing the biggest "Anything Goes!" party ever! :D
I live on the border of Westchester & Putnam Counties, just a few miles from Indian Point Nuclear Plant. If I'm...
Eh, all joking aside
I don't know how much you can really do, in this type of situation...Unless you have an underground bunker! I do have full coverage gas masks here, with good filters, but, realistically??? What are they gonna get me? I might live an hour longer! :D LOL!! Yeah, you can...
I live just a couple miles from Indian Point, and if that goes up in smoke, I'm using the old "Tried & True" method....
"DUCK AND COVER"! I hear it works great! :D
Gotta say, I ain't much for the ocean, or, scuba diving, etc....BUT....I'd sure as HELL reconsider my position on that! I'd LOVE to do me some Lionfish hunting with a Glock! YEAH BABY!!! Now that's some serious fun right there! :D
