Fuck the tang safety. Took me two days to get the gold trigger into the Maverick 88 trigger group. I am NOT taking another Mossberg trigger group apart. Ever.
VERY nice gesture, AC, but no thanks. It breaks my heart to disassemble it, but I'll make a nice birdshead that'll keep it above 26". Thanks though.
Did you measure yours yet? Are you good?
Well, this is a disappointment. I'm in the hospital, I come out to find out the ATF has changed classifications!
A stock adapter, buffer tube, and pistol brace are no longer included in OAL measurement. All the work I did to get my pistol grip to match is null and void.
Here's the letter.
Bad news, guys. Corgi, not sure on your shotgun, but I had to remove my stock adapter, buffer tube, and brace, and reinstall my stock Raptor Grip.
The ATF recently ruled that OAL can't include the tube and brace. I guess it's time to get to the woodshop and make a nice walnut birdshead that...
I noticed that! Took me so long to type, you already finished the job! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Glad it turned out. I love the heat shield. Great for not burning your hands on a hot barrel, (even if I don't have a bayonet).
Was thinking about your stock. I bet you could steam/bend a piece of wood...
Ok, here's a couple suggestions, (and yes, it does in fact contain plumbing clamps!)
Reshape the rear ears by trial and fit, get them as close as possible.
Change the shape of the front ears from a light bulb shape to an upside down U shape by straightening the front ears. This will make...
I fought with mine long and hard. There was NO way to put the bolts through, even after bending the bolt. And trying to keep from scratching/denting it kinda went against what I did with mine. Here's how I mounted mine.
1. Forget the front for a bit, and work on the rear ears. I used padded...
1. Remove as much of the AR stock as possible in the areas where it'll fit into the wood stock. This will help give you more wood inside the stock.
2. Cut it for shape.
3. Inlet the AR stock into the wood stock.
4. Use epoxy thinned with acetone to paint the inside of the wood. I did this...
I just got through installing a Maverick 88 trigger group into my Shockwave project. It has a cross bolt safety like on a Remington, so it's easy to snick it left-right without breaking your grip. Really easy, just drops right in. I also installed a gold Mossberg trigger into that Mav 88 trigger...
Same for the tube magazine, 10 round limit, just like detachable mags, but I'm not sure where I read that. Add an Opsol 2.0, and use minishells like I do. They function perfectly, and give me 10 rounds in the tube on a Shockwave. You'd probably get 12. That's a lotta firepower in a pump.
Keep...
Cool. What adapter and brace are you going with? Remember to keep your LOP under 13½", or ATF may view it as a shoulder stock. @ me when you start your thread. I don't wanna miss it!
*edit Now that I see you're building from a full size 500 and not a 14" barrel Shockwave, disregard my LOP...
He's a helluva nice guy, he'll get back to you. If not, give him a call.
The difficulty *for me carving my own is the bad wing. That's why I needed something pre-machined where it joins the adapter, (or AR lower). Drilling the hole scared me, too.
I did a little mock-up of a Thompson style AR...
Canadians are paying exorbitant prices on meat right now.
Choot da hog
Dress da hog out
Freeze da hog
Sen' dem to Canada, eh?
Hav sum pulled pork, ya hosers!
Wow, I'm honored! It really is a nice, tight shotgun-like package. I've done my share of door kicking in my youth, and I wish I had something like this back then.
The hard part will be settling on a grip, and finding one for less than $100. Give Gene a call at Blackgunswood.com. Nice guy, and...
Thanks Putt! It's been a lotta fun. I have days that I can use both hands, and days where I have to clamp everything in a vice and do it one-handed.
It's remarkably maneuverable, too. Been practicing at the sandpits shooting both one and two handed, speed loading, etc. It's a TON of fun!
And...
Ok, so after much criticism from folks elsewhere on the web, I have installed a Maverick 88 trigger assembly with a proper cross bolt safety. The receiver safety is unreachable without braking your grip. This is much better.
First, get yourself a Maverick 88 trigger assembly. You can find them...
Installed a Maverick 88 trigger assembly, (cross bolt safety as opposed to a receiver safety), and also added a gold Mossberg trigger!
*WARNING!*
Taking a Mossberg trigger group apart is NOT for the faint of heart!
More in my thread.
It really does make a nice tight little shotgun package. 14" barrel + 13½" LOP + 10 rounds of Challenger short shells in the tube = 33" of highly maneuverable 12g firepower.
Doooo eeeeiiit...
Nope, no offense taken, and I'll gladly explain, buddy.
A Shockwave is not a shotgun. Never was, never will be, UNTIL you add a shoulder stock. THEN, it becomes a shotgun, and is subject to a tax stamp and must be registered as a SBS, (short barrel shotgun).
It comes with a raptor grip, (not a...
My wife loves my braced Shockwave. Length of pull is under 13½", and a 14" barrel makes a very snug little package. I also use the Opsol mini-clip 2.0, and Challenger minishells, which gives me 10 rounds in the tube.
Bet you could find a used Shockwave cheap.
Here's a Q post roughing out what will be happening. Teresa May stepping down might also precipitate lots of MI5/MI6 resignations, (Five Eyes, remember?)
Basically, Obama/Clinton flanked Trump.
