    it is strange that we are forced to choose, and purchase a firearm "before" we submit the application.. first, what if we aren't ready to decide on what to purchase? second, and assuming it will take months before you are approved, what if there's a newer model of the firearm or something nicer...

    It's the same application that's on the NY State/govt website.. but according to the above PL400 statement there are 5 types of licenses (noted as A-E). The only one most of us qualify for is: (a) have and possess in his dwelling by a householder...that is not a concealed carry at all... "B" is...

    it's the same official application that is available for download from the ny.gov state website. The FFL/org is just guiding us through the process to ensure it is filled out properly and you have met the prerequisites (ie pistol purchase, safety course, etc) which they also provide.. kind...

    I went through an NRA sponsored organization for the app process. They also are an FFL and certified firearms safety, etc trainer. The app only alllows you to pick one of three options.. (carry concealed, possess on premises, or possess/carry during employment) I was specifically instructed...

    thanks...that's what I figured.. does the actual permit say "carry" or something to that extent, or does it state? or is the "restricted" permit considered a concealed carry when you leave the house? Some cops get technical with these things.. can't find an official statement anywhere..
