Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

I'm going to go with no because I have no idea what a table top FFL is. I plan on stopping in this weekend and talking with this store and another one a little further away. Thanks for the help.

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

Thanks for the link. Take it easy on me with these next few questions lol. So I can order any pistol and just exclude the larger mags then buy 10 rounders? And do the mags also have to go to the FFL dealer? What about the pistols that come with mags like the Legion? Will the pistol be cheaper...

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

Hey guys being I've never purchased from the FFL and just starting a relationship with the LGS should I talk with the store before hand as a common courtesy? Not looking to ruffle his feathers right off.

He said it wasn't NY compliant as it was only available in 15 round?

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

Never purchased a gun online nor had one shipped to a shop. So I'll be honest I have no idea what is all involved with the process?

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

So today was pretty unsuccessful. LGS had a line on a Legion X-5 only to find out it was sold before he could order it. They were unsuccessful finding another and have no current ETA when one might become available. So I asked about getting a HK VP9L-B. Was told I couldn't get that pistol...

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

Well been awhile but finally have an appointment at the LGS tomorrow. Looking like for right now its come down to the P320 Legion or a HK VP9. Couldn't justify the Q5 cost as my first pistol with everything else I'll need. Safe, holster, ammo.. lots of ammo :p and some training classes. I'm...

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

Funny part about this is being I have never shot a pistol I wouldn't really know how great the trigger really is ;). But the videos and reviews look great on that Q5. as well as the budget.

Spoke with our LGS and he has neither. He didn't really sound interested in bringing in both for me to handle . Really not looking to drop some coin on either pistol without at least handling it.

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

I have not. I know my LGS said he would have to order both. So I'm waiting to hear back from him now to see how that works. Don't want him to be stuck with one.

Just received my permit from Broome. Time to shop..

Took just about 3 months for the entire process but I finally received my permit today in the mail. Now it's time to go shopping. Think I have it narrowed down to these two. Sig Sauer P320 X Legion or the Walther PPQ Q5 Just for target shooting and home defense. Any pros or cons for either...

That would be great! Thinking of ordering both pistols at once so I'm done messing with paperwork and all this waiting.

    Checking in from Broome County

2 Months and a few days. Still waiting on the permit. References have been in for 2 months, fingerprinting was done the same day I turned in the permit paperwork. Spoke with the Sheriff office last week and was told all applications are still moving thru the system. Just not sure how quickly...

Any chance pistol permits won't be delayed because of COVID-19?

I recently spoke with the Sheriff office in Broome County and although they are closed anyone myself included that turned in everything for a pistol permit before the office closed is still moving forward with reviews and given to the county Court judges. So that's good news at least.

Any chance pistol permits won't be delayed because of COVID-19?

Turned my permit into Broome County in Feb. No references called zip nada zilch. Tried to call just to "ask" if the process was moving forward, no answer. Originally was told 6 months by the deputy :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:. I"ll be lucky if its a year.

    First Pistol

Thanks for all the suggestions. I really appreciate the feedback. Think I focus my research on the Q5 and 320 x5. Reading tons of reviews and watching you tube videos I'm really leaning towards the Q5 .

    First Pistol

As I wait for my permit and continue to keep looking into different pistols I'm wondering if some of the members with experience could give your opinion. I have around a 1K budget for a new pistol. Not looking for a EDC. Just plan on targeting so I guess accuracy is what I'm looking for. Two of...

    Checking in from Broome County

Just found the forum from a google search. Little back ground on myself, I'm a young 52 year old who's just getting into shooting. Haven't hunted in 35 years or more and embarrassed to say haven't shot a pistol yet. Just recently applied for my permit so while I wait I'm trying to educate myself...
