A recent court case, LaMarco v. Suffolk, has significantly impacted how Suffolk County handles the issuance of concealed carry weapon (CCW) permits for individuals living with someone who has a history of mental illness. This case, brought under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 by plaintiffs Thomas and Diane...
Hey everyone,
I read the rules and it looks like its ok. I wanted to post a CONFIDENTIAL survey about how long and where it took you to get your concealed carry permits in NYS. This should help shed some light on some otherwise dark places of this state, but only if we get a decent amount of...
As a firearms instructor, and someone who helps people with the process, I find Nassau and Westchester to easily be the worst county in the country for a CCW permit. Nassau for always doing the most, and Westchester for their waiting games.
I had luck calling CT on the phone to get a packet...
Hey everyone, I still have a few seats open for a 18 hour course this weekend, if anyone is interested. 400$, range fee and ammo included.
This course satisfies all requirements for the classroom and live-fire training for the issuance of a New York concealed carry permit.
This course includes...
I've gone down this hole, and would like to report back with my findings. If you want an AR-15, find an FFL willing to make a transfer because you have a secondary residence and keep it out of NYC. Otherwise, purchase a Fightlite SCR or a Foxtrot Tango Ranch rifle. NYC will NOT register an AR15...
In NYC its one gun at a time, with a maximum of two. We are suing in regards to that now. Along with fees and other BS. Feel free to check out our lawsuit here:

This is the first of the reddit lawsuit.
Yes, I flew through JFK to Nevada.
Plan at least an extra half hour through JFK as every firearm is inspected. I arrived at the desk and they called the Port Authority Police which sauntered over about 30 minutes later, asked me to unlock the case they cleared it by flagging absolutely everyone...
Smaller companies don't necessarily imply they're not reputable. If you take your slide to bubba's pissin' hot reload shack for a milling, yeah you might get screwed. Its up to their risk tolerance to see what they want to support, I'm fine with going to MP Machining, I saw some work online they...
My slide is now in his hands. We'll see how long it takes, but I'm having him mill an optic cut, and hopefully some serrations and a cerakote job on it
Most of the guys in NJ use this guy, and a bunch of the people here too:
https://wagermachineworks.com/
Unfortunately they're closed for another few weeks he said, but I'm sending in my slide once they reopen.
Ahaha, yeah being a leftie definitely drives my purchases.
I have tried contacting them before, but never received a response back. I'm down to be a part of any lawsuit that fucks with the system here.
After a 5 month wait, alongside the last 2 years of dealing with them to get my Rifle/Shotgun permit and my Premise permit, the NYPD have finally given me the pleasure of receiving a CCW :rolleyes:
Cost was almost 900$ between the 340$ for the CCW, 400 for training and 88.25 for...
I just picked up a p320 without an optic cut, looking for one if anyone has one lying around they're trying to get rid of. Trade with $ on top also fine by me
If I had to guess, judging by the line of questioning during oral arguments, this would very much so affect NYC. Thursday is the hope!
Edit: I mean obviously because this is a SCOTUS case it will affect NYC, but I meant to say they will take places like NYC into consideration when writing the...
Speaking to the FFL's in this city is pointless. They won't transfer anything that they have more than 0 doubt will get registered. Gun shops here look more like cowboy outfitting shops than firearm sellers. Unless of course you're a cop, in which case no problem have whatever you want. But I...
Well yes, we should sue the **** out of NYC. But. I think I found a solution and while moving is definitely preferable, looks like all of these AW bans only can be enforced with a specific type of gun. Semi-Automatic.
Looks like if you toss a Kali Key into an AR-15, it is no longer...
I had to call them 30+ times to schedule my fingerprinting appointment. They let me know on 12/30/2021 that my application was reached, and scheduled fingerprinting around 1/4/2022 for the 25th.
I am not sure who I should reach out to when a month has passed since they started their...
I paid for my application on 1/04/2021. I got fingerprinted on 1/25/2022. I'm still in investigation. Do with that what you will. They told me at fingerprinting that it takes between 3-4 months from that point. They only do 10 fingerprinting appointments per day.
If they have to identify them by make, model and or manufacturer, shouldn't there be a specific list?
Edit:
If this is the job of the commissioner, there should be a list for everyone else to follow. The commissioner is not inspecting every rifle being registered through the rifle/shotgun...
Hi Everyone,
Been lurking here for a long time, especially while waiting for my Rifle/Shotgun permit from the NYPD. Like the title says, I see there is a mutual understanding that AR-15's are named and banned here. However, I'm not exactly one of those people that likes when arbitrary decisions...
