I don't mean to make light of the situation or run salt in the wound....

But these young men...it might not be their fault. They almost certainly had bad parents and missed key lessons growing up. Case in point...look at this gem of a quote from the now deceased armed robbers mother “I think they should be charging (the victim). If somebody gets shot four times, I mean, that was aiming at him,” Cauthen’s grandmother, Diane said.

With attitudes like that it's no wonder the kids grew up with the attitudes they had.

I'll be the first to agree that I think moral parenting is obviously something that has been on a rapid decline, but I have to disagree as a whole.
Baring those with legit mental defciencies, I think everyone has an understanding between what's right and what's wrong. They wore masks, hence they didn't want to be identified because they knew it could lead to arrest & potential consequences. This tells me they possessed adequate intelligence to understand the concept. You can't tell me they broke in thinking that everything they were doing is done all the time and was a good choice.
I think what's lacking is a parent that instills a sense of worth of other human life, a value for others. Momma's statement proves that. I seriously doubt they were incapable of knowing right from wrong.

This is Darwinism at work. His moron mother was able to breed but those stupid genes won’t be passed on by him. The world is a better place. Charge the mother with child abuse or endangering a child after those comments.
