so is the NRA training just show up and attend and get a cert ..or any damn class at any cost ???
like the automotive ASE certs ???
I for a fact seen a ASE master tech mechanic had no clue how tear down a alternator to all parts ...
i could do this when i was 12 years old and rebuild that thing

I call ASE .. another stupid engineer test ..


I learned from my dad and boy scouts and hunter Ed .. Don't point that gun at anything you don't want to kill!!!! .. empty or not .. and it was free ...

where did this NRA instructor get his cert from to train this goof ... the cracker jack box ..

Um, I do not see as much trouble with this story/video as others will/ This whole "Do not Stand in front of a gun" rule, sometimes does not fit with all levels of training.

In the video that was part of the linked story, they ensured the guns were completely cleared. The trainee was looking for much assistance with hos draw, as well as his stance. The instructor was standing directly in front of the student so he could see each and everything that was done right or wrong.

Some of this safety stuff is really going overboard and making many gun owners look like they need more Government regulations and more oversight.

Granted, I would not like to be trained by this guy, but he trains the wy he trains.

Quite frankly, I agree with @GOPerfect that it's all about attaching some arbitrary requirements to be able to enjoy your Rights! An ever increasing series of regulations, forms, and hoops to jump through. There's good and bad in everything, not every instructor is going to be Mr. Wonderful... Buyer beware! But ultimately, what the hell does that have to do with anything?

The only disagreement that I'll make to this is... from the videos that I've seen from this guy in the past, he's "training" people that have never held a gun in their lives and have no clue. And they'll take those bad habits with them outside the class, and that's a recipe for disaster. But advanced training programs and such, yes, there is definitely a safe way to do it while breaking some of the 4 safety rules.

It is inevitable some arsehat, no matter how advanced of a shooter, will load up and shoot someone or something sooner or later. Blue guns and Simunition were made for such training.
