anyone have a good source for 1903 Springfields looking for a shooter not a collector. something pre WW2

Gunbroker is the best source really. I bought a 1918 made aught-three for under 700 bucks, in really good shape. Just rememeber to make sure the serial number is over 800000 (for springfield armory) and over 286000 (For rock island armory) if you plan on shooting it. Anything under those serial numbers is no bueno to shoot.

I was very skeptical the first time I bought a gun on GB. But every seller gives you an "no fire" inspection period. I'll only buy from someone with 100% positive reviews, and someone who posts lots of highly detailed pictures. Ive bought five rifles on GB so far, zero problems whatsoever.

The one pawn shop I go to has one, it was priced ok, I think it was less then $400. I can check it out and send you pictures Monday or tuesday if you are interested.

If you want a shooter would you consider the the M1917 Enfield? They are a good bit cheaper and are objectively the better gun.
