I just don't see any "realists" doing anything about it. Other than bitch.

Other than take up arms, that is all that can be done. These threads and forums are like us sitting at a table in an underground bunker. While 3/4’s of the table is talking about making signs, the other 1/4 is telling the other 3/4’s that they are wasting their time. We are doing something. We are telling the other 3/4’s to get their head out of their assess because if real action is to take place, it cannot be done by only 1/4 of the table.

So, being that it seems most people here feel something needs to be done and that the “glorious revolution” will most likely not happen (for a multitude of reasons), what proactive measures can be taken immediately in order to challenge these unconstitutional regulations?

Again & again, the “grabbers” are persistent in their actions and seem to get things done, why can’t we do the same? The “grabbers” spend less time complaining and hating on each other, and actually come together to see how they can achieve their ends, why can’t people who want deregulation?

While that is certainly an important component of the equation, you don’t think more can be done in challenging the legality of many of these unconstitutional regulations, and more “grass roots” efforts in putting pressure on various representatives to enact more “pro gun” laws, etc?

To clarify, when I tagged you in my previous replay I wasn't insinuating that you personally are doing nothing. I was talking about how you think standing out in the cold with a sign does nothing and that you don't see an armed uprising as something that will happen. I agree with you on standing out in the cold. I'm not sure what to think about an uprising though.

My point is why the immediate hate for pro gun legislative proposals? Yeah, I get it, there usually isn't much hope for them to succeed, at least not here in NY. I'm not so foolish as to live my life based on hopes, but would we be better off if no one proposed them? That the only bills be anti gun? A lot of anti gun bills don't make it either, yet they are proposed again and again and I can almost guarantee that the people behind them don't view them with the same cynicism and doubt that gun owners do with pro gun bills. Why is that and do you maybe think that has in part helped their goals?

If taking up arms is what you mean by real action, you contradict yourself. You have repeatedly said that armed resistance will not happen. That there will be no second civil war. So what do you mean by "real action"?

No. They won’t do it. A democrat politician sure as hell will not and a Republican politician (Well most Republicans) secretly want gun control as well. That’s why they rarely ever enact pro gun laws when they have the power to do so. That’s why we never got national reciprocity or getting rid of the NFA when we had both houses. They do not want to lose their seats because they know that the majority want gun control.

Just look at how many republican citizens actually support background checks. Look at how many actually support bans on automatic rifles. The politicians are worried about losing them. They do not care about us. We are a minority. Go to any republican rally and conduct a survey. The overwhelming majority will be for felons losing their gun rights regardless if it was a non violent felony. They will be for domestic violence abusers losing their rights. Regardless if it was just an argument and a lamp breaking caused by both sides equally being disorderly. They are conditioned to believe that those people shouldn’t have their rights upon release. Many in this forum do too.

The “gun grabbers” operate with a level of persistence that should inspire us, they are not deterred if their proposed legislation doesn’t “make it through”, they put their “minds together” and analyze how another approach might be better. They don’t “hate” on one another. They just make moves. They mobilize. I’ve seen this with various other “interests” groups, etc. If the “gun grabbers” can’t get the “whole chunk”, so they’ll “go at” the “small pieces”. They don’t lose sight of the “end game”. Why can’t we do the same? Is hating on one another and complaining more enjoyable than actually getting things done?

It will not happen because guys want to carry signs. And their idea of taking up arms is replacing those signs with guns and doing the same useless thing standing there with them
rather actually using them to take over the government.

That’s why I say that it will never happen. It will never happen because they do not want to engage those that actually physically oppress us in the field because they are our friends.

For an armed insurrection to work, people need to realize who the real enemy is and who protects them. They need to get through the protection to get the enemy. They need to surround every police station and disable their cars. They need to climb up mountains and disable police radio repeaters and cell phone towers. They need to block roads crippling their response while others actually take politicians into custody and engage those that will just be doing their jobs to protect them. They need to actually dispose of the current government and then defend against it being taken over again.

But the police are our friends and you are just a cop hater most will say. That right there is why it will never happen. The American public has their heads buried deep in the ground and people like me that actually sit down and think of what will it actually take to dispose of a government using a military mindset are crazy cop haters.

I know it will never happen. So I’m a cop hater for bringing the police into it and a guy who just complains and does nothing productive for pointing out what needs to happen and what it takes to make it happen. I am not a cop hater. They are just part of the equation and I’m just pointing it out. If we were to dispose of a government in another country, how would our military do it? Will they just stand out there in the cold with a sign or a gun in an open area or will they knock down their communications and engage every soldier, cop, or secret service agent in route to the objective that opposes them and take Saddam Hussein by force?

Are guys here willing to do that? No. They are not. They have to go to work so that they can pay their mortgages and buy a new Ruger hunting rifle for their upcoming hunt after their trip to Disney World and their daughter’s wedding.

And if the NSA or NYSP is reading, I’m just like everyone else that goes to work to pay my mortgage and pay for my upcoming trips. I’m not planning anything because I’m just one guy on a forum. I’m just pointing out the naivety of people. That is all. I will not participate in an uprising because one, it is far fetched and two, I’m getting old and washed out and just want to enjoy the rest of my short life that I have left with my wife and dog. I will be leaving NY in a few years to be out of your hair to travel the country and world.

They're allowed to take power because of economics. Band together, build up wealth among like minded people, and push and fund politicians who further Libertarianism.

While I may agree with a lot of what you said above, you are acknowledging what real action is and that, just like the idea of pro gun legislation passing, it will likely never happen. Is that pessimism or being a realist? Either way, why is it okay to advocate for one futile avenue but not another? Why are we even having this conversation then? This is really just a sad virtual circle jerk of "we need real action but nothing is gonna work or happen". You said it, NO ONE is going to stand up and revolt. So why am I getting shit about real action when commenting about pro gun proposals? It will never be real because no one will do it. The only thing that has been established here is that A: We need real action but B: it will never happen so C: we are doomed then finally D: fuck you for saying pro gun legislation is a good thing. Great, what is the point then? This whole back and forth is a waste of time and energy. Like I said in an earlier post, it's fucking exhausting.

I’m not saying that you particularly are calling me things. Many do but not you particularly.

I’m just saying that other than a real armed insurrection which will not happen, nothing at this point can be done and all other gestures are futile. That’s it.

I’m just being a realist telling it like it is. I guess defeatism and realism are the same thing. I’m not ashamed to admit that we lost because the police and the american citizenry do not have what it takes to fix this.

my brother who lives in Virginia just ordered a Springfield Saint online. He said the price jumped $50 in a few days so he ordered one up. He also told me the state is bending on a few things. It seems they can keep the evil rifles if they are bought prior to this upcoming July.. Magazine capacity will be no more than 12..
