Thee are videos about how to "make your 10/22 super accurate with just one screw". Torqued just right!
Well I did the test a couple times without any change in accuracy.
I think those guys are looking for some magic bullet.
I do know at Appleseed shoots with the number of rounds we fire, The Takedown screws ( especially 10/22's with just one action screw ) do sometimes come loose! We usually check the line once or twice during a shoot.
I know with my 1022s I haven't ever noticed them get loose but there's been times that I haven't tightened it after cleaning
In that case you can feel the action moving around in the stock I think that's around 10 inch pounds and below
The 15 in lb torque spec for scope base screws seems about right. Warne recommends 15 in lbs also for their scope base screws for this rifle, (2 pc scope bases p/n M898/918M for the matte finish), undoubtedly due to aluminum receiver. I tried the 20 in lb spec for the take down screw on my carbine. I liked it, seems snug but not ridiculously tight.
