Cliff notes: I kept this NRA Chief Range Safety Officer course intentionally small, as it was "sandwiched" between a NRA Basic Pistol Instructor course I was doing, and didn't want a 10hr day between two other 10 hr days.
It turned into a 13hr day, and worth every minute of it. Had a trio of gents from a range west of the Hudson - they earned their certification.
That is all.

Update to original post:
I am generally hesitant to accept CRSO candidates in my CRSO class unless I have an understanding of their familiarity with firearms. As anyone who has ever participated in any course I have given can tell, I always hold everyone to the stated objectives and test to the given standard (we teach the objectives and test to the standard).
With over 180+ RSOs certified and somewhere north of 50 CRSOs, we have an abundance of data to support our position that RSOs, and especially those RSOs who take the online course only, end up being some of the least prepared CRSO candidates. My objective is to make each person that comes to us for training BETTER, and to stay true to those aforementioned objectives and standards.
The CRSO course we ran on Saturday morphed into an additional four hours to help some/most/all of the participants to meet the course objectives. I slept exceedingly well on Saturday evening, knowing I stayed true to my word.
Andrew.
