New Jersey authorities announced Monday the arrests of 12 men they said were part of a criminal network in Camden County that trafficked in untraceable, build-it-yourself AR-15 assault rifles.

At a news conference in Camden, state and local officials said some of the men were the first to be arrested under a new state law criminalizing the use of “ghost guns” built from kits sold online. The arrests were made between March 8 and Thursday, authorities said.

Manufacturing with intent to sell and without a license has been a federal crime for a long time.

Possession by felons or other prohibited persons has also been a federal crime for years and years.

I fail to see why the dog piling of NJ's new 'ghost gun' laws deserve any positive attention whatsoever. In fact, they should be called out on their redundancy and restriction of otherwise lawful activity that is probably constitutionally protected.

They toss out this whole "ghost gun" law, so they can say; "SEE, SEE,.. This proves that new gun laws work, and more are needed"!!

OR ... they found 12 guys sharing info on how to build which may not go as planned when it winds its way through the courts. All speculation have no idea of the details. They could have been manufacturing for resale as stated.
