Finally decided to get a 22 lr conversion kit for my 1911 but I haven't decided on which one to get. I've heard mixed reviews on reliability, feed issues etc. I believe a lot of problems can be attributed to ammo selection but I'm sure the components of the kit have a lot to do with that too. What are your experiences? What did you buy and how do you like it?

I have a Night Hawk Custom with Bob Marvel conversion and love it. Think you can buy Marvel conversion kits separately for most 1911s. Had feed issues when gun was brand new but may have been ammo or gun just needed to be broken in. No issues since. I wish it were a 45 lol...

I’ve had a Ciener Conversion on my P14 for about 15 years. It’s not a flashy kit and it doesn’t have last shot lock back but it’s never malfunctioned that I can recall. I’ve fired everything thru it, cheap stuff to CCI and it runs like a top.

I have the Sig 1911-22 and it’s great. Had it for 3 years, lots of rounds down range, no problems with any ammo. Same manual of arms, size and weight. I would leave 1911 45 as is and use the 1911-22 as an inexpensive training gun

Not a 1911, but I have a conversion kit for my Sig P266. It works okay, but can be temperamental.
Mostly because Westchester county is a pain in the ass with amendments. Rather not go through the BS. Besides if I wanted a dedicated 22lr pistol I would probably go for a mark iv.
Was thinking about this option too.
This is the way I'm leaning considering it will go on a Kimber frame.
Check with PP office you may need amendment for conversion kit. Permit requires that caliber be listed among others so even though pistol is already listed as 45 it may have to be listed again as 22.
