Buddy of mine and I are going pheasant hunting (preserve) next Saturday.

And that little six point STILL has his horns!

I picked up my Costanza sausage order earlier this month. I somehow spent over $400 on freaking sausages this year. Their slim sticks are outrageously expensive hence the cost. I'll have to go easier on it next year. At least if coronavirus clears the shelves I am not short on meat.

I was supposed to go pheasant hunting tomorrow.

Preserve is closed.

Fuckers (NY, not the preserve). Walk in the woods with guns and good dogs would've been great for morale. Instead I'll be sitting down in Coronaville with a tube in my arm. Ten days to go including tomorrow.

Just bitchin'.

"From April 15, 2020 until June 30, 2020, you can complete all the requirements to earn a NYS hunter education certificate online
includes an online virtual field day which replaces the previous in-person component."

took advantage of the offering and taken the course.
took me all day to complete it, but well worth it.

never hunted, hopefully i can learn and find someone to show me the ropes, or enroll in some sort of sessions.

A large portion of it could be online based. Then you only need to come in for a few hours one day for hands-on.

I am not sure a one day exposure to the hands on hunting ed course would alleviate this concern, since that requirement already exists and as you say they woods are full of em anyway.

Lucky you can do that. I could get one in about 15 minutes this morning but I’d likely be arrested 5 minutes later. I know where a beast of a bird is. Has to be 20+ pounds. Biggest I’ve ever seen actually. He’s in the city though.

The sun up to noon thing kills me though; we have several that have been hanging out at the bird feeder about 20 yards right out the back door - but they only seem to show up right around happy hour.

Just my luck. So far I could have shot a grousse, 2 deer, and 2 rabbits. No turkeys yet. Heard some a bit off in the distance though.
the deer were probably 35 feet away drinking in the stream.
