Just read a post from Oneida Rifle Club that they're doing a shoot to raise money for Camden's rifle club.. they reported that Camden has significant water damage from last week's storm..
The damage is amazing. 10 inches of water through out the clubhouse. Thousands of dollars in damage -- And we just bought two new furnaces that were submerged and several other things (refrigerators, freezer, traps, carpeting, etc etc) NOT to mention damage to the walls etc.
I watched the storm on radar after getting weather alerts. I believe it was flash flooding .Oh man. I recommend starting a new thread to post updates in, share the fundraiser bit above and any other details where people can help. Did the water come through the roof/window or was it flooding? Didn't think it was that bad of an area for water..
Tried to post about this earlier today. - For some reason I could not get the site to upload the pictures. Thursday night storm / deluge dumped 5 + inches of rain in northern Oneida county in a matter of minutes. Friday morning the water marks on club entrance door were 10 - 11 inches high, from bottom edge of the DOOR. Water, mud, silt, gravel throughout the club and indoor pistol range. Indoor ranges closed until further notice. Trap ranges closed until further notice. Two new furnaces, just installed in club & pistol range have to be evaluated - 3 refrigerators, freezers and dishwasher in kitchen probably history, kitchen stove, questionable. $ 7,900.00 Pat-Trap will probably have to be sent to factory for rebuilding. Note: we are NOT in a low spot - gently rolling terrain - on a hill, yet. Water marks on some weeds, adjacent to the berm of our 200 yard rifle range show the water depth there to have been about 36". -- This is about 70 yards from our entrance door, over level ground. Kitchen cabinetry & work island, probably shot - paneling / insulation through meeting room, two bathrooms, a couple adjacent storage closets, equipment for our Youth Shooters Air rifle club probably needs attention, - includes several high-end competition air-rifles, and accompanying equipment. - The damage is devastating, and unfathomable, - if you know our grounds and club layout - you would never believe ANY amount of water like that could accumulate there - let alone flow like a raging river - we just last week spent a grand for new gravel & crusher to enlarge, and level parking by rifle range - all washed away! We have engaged service master to help with clean up, they'll be there Tuesday A.M. - large dumpster arriving Monday morning, - carpets will heave to be removed immediately - probably paneling, holy crap - records from hunter education classes, club records, damage yet to be evaluated. Outdoor ranges, remain open and accessible - 200 yd. range & 70 yard range - skeet field is useable, archery range is useable. -- Insurance coverage? - doubtful - Who the hell need flood insurance on top of a hill? We've worked our asses off the last 30 - 40 years to get where we are today - I, and many others who have put their energy, blood, sweat, tears and labor into this place are devastated, - but we will survive - and rise again from the mud.
Wish us well!
Run another month long gun rafle..
