2019 Pistol Permit Renewal

My PP “renewal” is due late this year. I got a letter from the State informing me it was due sometime this year.
Do I renew permit now and hopefully retain concealed carry permit, or wait until the fall when it is due and have to comply with Safe2 regulations?
What are others doing?

Good question. I wonder if it'll move your next renewal date forward to five years from your new permit date?

My son got his letter also. His renewal isn’t due till December. We’re on the fence weather to do it now or wait.

Mine was not due until October this year. With all of the potential crap coming down the pike, I debated whether to renew now, after I got a letter from the purple ties squad, or to wait until later this year.

Given how suddenly they passed NY (UN)SAFE under Princess Qhomo’s Memo of Necessity, I decided not to wait. I didn’t want to wait and wake up one day and be subject to even more crap passed in the middle of the night. So, I renewed it earlier this week.

I took a picture of the screen, and it now shows my renewal is due 5 years from when I renewed earlier this week, NOT in October which would have been the 5 year anniversary of when it was issued, and is the date shown on my permit.

So, I now have one more damn date to keep in mind and not miss! FUAC!

I also went back online later and verified that it is renewed; printed that page out, and took a screen shot picture of my monitor as well.

And one more thing for those who decide to do it,- you can select non public disclosure of your permit data, but it is very easy to miss the one justification that “you are afraid you may be harassed” because of the way the lines are shown on that page. Of course, they have prominent warnings on that page that if you select the wrong reason for selecting non disclosure, that you can be subject to prosecution for filing a false statement,- and then, of course, you can lose your gun rights in NY as well. I mean seriously, WTF?

My local PPO in NY told me that when we filled out our non disclosure forms, that those only applied if someone from our home county requested our info; that UNTIL we filed the non disclosure form with our NY State Police “renewal”, we were NOT covered statewide.

So, being half paranoid about dealing with this shit in NY, I made sure to take a screen shot of that page too, in case something were to ever happen and I needed to prove I filled it out, and somehow NY might claim I did not...

God, I hate the fucking NY beaurocracy...
