Well this weekend kicked off my ice fishing season and we went out today. Me and the boy went with a buddy of mine. Walking out talking to guys and it was nope, nothing, nada so I had low hopes. We got out there and got set up and bam one after another. A lot of good sized bluegill. We saw tons of big large mouths all around 18-20”, maybe 12 in total. Saw 3 northern s and a Muskie all in the 24” range. None of the bigger fish hit, but still lots in camera.
we kept a couple so we have enough for a meal for each of us. They were all good sized sunnies and bluegill.
Next up we’re going to head out for walleye or northern.
mom kicking myself because I passed on minnows this weekend and man I sure wish I had them. I had a bass on screen hitting my jig, but I failed to set the hook since the jig was small. I was kind of pissed. I also think I missed one other bass, just off the size of the hit, it was a hard one. The pan fish were biting really light. I had a few on the line and I didn’t even know they were there. I went to jig the line and bam there was a fish there.
Anyone else Ice fish? Went to the small boat harbor in south Buffalo.
