Subcompact Challenge
Pistols that qualify must be 32 caliber or larger, have a barrel length less than or equal to 3 ½ inches and a short frame (not full sized grip).
The scenario: You are escorting three young children through the woods to Grandma’s house when you are accosted by a large Ragnar Lothbrok looking character and his rabid talking/shooting raccoon.
The raccoon approaches you guns drawn demanding the children in exchange for your life. You must hit the raccoon in the red circle 3 times at a distance of 5 yards. No extended magazines may be used at this stage.
Stance: Two handed Freestyle.
A minimum round count of 5, all in the center (no edge hits) of the circle is perfect score. You must keep shooting until you have 3 hits in the red circle no max round count.
The very large angry Viking look alike starts yelling and running toward you with his battle axe raised above his head. You were injured in your weak arm by the raccoon before it died. You reload and take aim at his head because he is covered in thick body armor and bearskins. You must hit him in the “T” 3 times at a distance of 7 yards.
Stance: Strong hand only.
A minimum round count of 5, all in the “T” (no edge hits) will be a perfect score. You must keep shooting until you have 3 hits in the in the “T” there is no maximum round count.
Scoring: 5 center hits on the described target area on each target with the minimum round count is perfect score 25 points per target (total of 50/10X possible for the challenge).
Each hit of the described target area is 5 points, maximum score of 25 per target.
All center only hits will also count as an “X” example: 25/5X is a perfect score per target.
4 hits on the described target area on both targets with the minimum round count is 20 points per target. All center only hits will also count as an “X” example: 20/4X.
3 hits on the described target area on both targets with the minimum round count is 15 points per target. All center only hits will also count as an “X” example: 15/3X.
3 hits on the described target area on the target with more than 5 rounds is 15 points minus one point for every round fired over 5 per target. Example: If you took 11 shots but, ended up with 2 center hits (still must have 3 hits on the described target area) your score would be 9/2X ( for that target). You could end up with a negative number like -20/3X if you fired 35 rounds at one target.
Just to be clear: once you have reached 5 shots without the three required hits in the designated target area the maximum score you can receive in 14/3X (that would require you to shoot a 6th shot to get the 3rd required hit in the target area). Don't try to claim 25 point with 16 shots on your paper.
Consequences: If you don’t hit the designated target area you die, they split up your gear and eat the children.
PCC and Iron Sight Rifle Challenge:
The Scenario:
The North Korean Olympic Shooting team just rolled into town and are practicing at your range. It is really cutting into your trigger time so you challenge them to a match for range time. If you win they leave and never return. If you lose you have to clean the entire teams 1953 Chinese SKS' are you up for the challenge? They put their best shooter up against you. Be careful they have been known to attack large bodies of water when they are made out to be fools.
Equipment: Any iron sighted rifle or PCC can be entered. No optics of any kind on a rifle or PCC this challenge.
Target: SR1 (Service Rifle 1), you can either use the PDF or go buy a full sized SR1 target (the centers are the same size).
The distance: iron sight rifle 100 yards. PCC 50 yards.
The course of fire: 2 targets 5 rounds each
Target 1 must be shot standing offhand (use of sling is authorized),.
Target 2 must be shot from the prone or off the bench ( on your elbows) without the assistance of a bipod, sandbag or any other type of artificial rest. Targets have to be marked with the stance used for that target.
Scoring: Maximum score possible is 100/10x
