2023 Deer season

Only been out three times so far. Twice on state land and went to my private spot yesterday afternoon and sat on one of our corn fields. saw a bunch of doe and smaller bucks. A four point was chasing like crazy. At last light a large bodied deer was slowly working it's way through the tree line but didn't enter the field. Couldnt make out his antlers and he took off chasing.

Probably go out this afternoon and will be hunting hard this weekend and upcoming week.

Also happened to be in the right place at the right time. Had a friend who worked somewhere where a couple young bucks got in a bad situation. 3 one ice before end of October.....

This summer it seemed to me that the deer were awfully jumpy, like they had been hunted, this bow season it seemed the same. A guy stopped by monday and we were talking about bowhunting and out of no where he starts talking about how jumpy the deer are and comparing notes we both did a WTF! My son just texted me and while walking to his stand he said four deer took off like it was the middle of gun season and asked if they have been getting shot at. Not that I know of, and I would know of it! Something weird going on.

It’s been raining non stop here in Springville since 10:00 this morning. Got out of the woods for the day around 12:30. Tomorrow is shotgun starts. Glad we have private property to hunt.

Might be less ka-BOOOM's in the southern tier this season because of, you know... the thing.

Possibly it's those 15 + Millions of illegal trespassers that the sleepy administration has invited to enter :idk:chit they're known to have a taste for American Bald eagle :nervous:
