Thanks ! Got 100 acres of field corn to bring in then Christmas trees. Then hopefully a nice Puerto Rico beach… been going 7 days a week since May , im ready for some down time. Was a good season despite the excessive rain. Probably made money lol. 6 months from now I’ll be starting all over again god willing.

It was a tough year with all the rain. Lots of disease and lots of deer around because the light winters the past few years.

I think I got lucky with the first couple posts. This ground is hard as hell. If I stand on the 3 point lift arms while the PTO is engaged, it will ALMOST dig. May need to wait a few days after a heavy rain. It's really dry here. Probably can't till until spring. I just really want to get the fence done.

I've had that problem, I drop it down to the ground, inch the tractor ahead a bit, when it starts to bite, I inch backward till the auger is vertical. Works for me.

I'll try that next time. It's raining today, so hopefully the ground will soften up a little. I also ordered new cutting edges and pilot tip.
The one hole - I put the lift arms down and just let the auger spin for a while under its own weight. Brought it up, scooped out the dirt, and thought I was lucky enough to land perfectly centered on a curb stop cover. Polished compacted clay isn't dissimilar to cast iron.
Cleaned up and mulched. Covered with 3-4 in of last yrs leaf mulch, been doing that last 4 or 5 yrs. Really nice loose soil. The strawberrys you see is a new row, was a single row of 25 plants this spring, now 4ft wide length of the garden.

I planted my garlic a few weeks ago and put all my tilled up amended soil in 20 and 25 gallon grow bags.

the only problem with hydro in the home is pollination ..
you have to be the bee or order some and turn them loose in your room ..

New pilot bit and cutting edges. They weren't even worn too much. I only dug about 15 holes with them. Have about 40 more to go for the garden fence.

It’s amazing what the proper tool can do. I tore up a floor a few months back and I bought a Bosch scraper blade to do the last little bit that was glued down exceptionally well and my, my what a difference it made. Glad you got it worked out.

Finally got the last posts in this morning.
I'll till before the fence goes up if the ground dries out a bit.
There will be a 10' gate in the center of each side.
Chickens are probably going to go along the entire west side, between the fence and the evergreens.
Greenhouse will go from the north gate back to the NW corner. 45' x 20'-ish.
Neither of those are a big priority right now.
Started ordering some seeds. Mostly stuff to screw around with out in the pasture. Wheat, barley, definitely not poppies, corn.

looking at the shade from the trees, might want chickens on that side so there's some shade for summer.

I had to cut down my peach tree yesterday. I kept getting roots in my sewer and had to snake it 4 times this month. Never been like this so I cut it down and dug the stump out yesterday. Sad day but that’s life.
