Their jurisdiction is nationwide while serving in the role of protecting Congress, not just at the Capitol Building or within DC.

When we used to regularly go to Bills football games with a bunch of guys, we always had a sacrificial lamb at the security entrance LOADED with beers everywhere on person, and in the meantime the other 6 or 8 guys had a couple 2 or 3. Whomever turn it was would have at least a 12 pack, stuffed in pockets, hood, every nook and cranny. Hed take up 2 or 3 security-related sacrifice the twelver while the others would sneak in with the loot...
