That, plus removing the magazine safety and swapping in a trigger with an over travel screw makes for a very nice shooting gun.

I believe the tapered barrel MKII was called the Gov’t model wasn’t it? I had the MKII stainless bulled barrel. After doing an action and trigger job with Volquartsen parts and adding their target grips that thing was a tack driver. As far as take down and reassembly , yeah they could be a bear but after doing it hundreds of times it kind of became second nature. I agree that the newer models are a far cry from the old ones to take apart and reassemble.
Some places that have a similar ban in effect have exempted these and guns similar like the Hammerli and Perazi because they consider them a sporting firearms that most Olympic shooters use because they are so accurate and have outstanding triggers right out of the box.
