Occasionally, I like to run comparisons between the different ammo loads that I have on hand. Today the four contenders were.
For each load, I shot 5 groups with 5-rounds each at 25 yards.
I measured the groups center-to-center and recorded the size in inches. The following are the results.
The CCI SV doing the best was not a surprise. What I didn’t expect was the Aguila beating the Minimags. On the other hand, the Aguila did not function reliably. A had a few malfunctions with the others. But, I couldn’t get through a single group of the Aguila without at least 2 malfunctions. The green mountain barrel or the Brownells receiver seem less tolerant of ammo inconsistencies. The Aguila runs more reliably in the stock 10/22.
Here is the best group.
- 40 gr. CCI Standard Velocity LRN (Target)
- 36 gr. CCI Minimag HP (Varmint)
- 40 gr. Agulia Super Extra (Bulk)
- 40 gr. Federal American Eagle LRN HV (Target)
