I believe the Second Circus, in an attempt to stave off SCOTUS review, gave us as little back as they dared to.
Exactly. What is the point of people going through the process of getting a permit, doing all these hoops, to only have that gun sit at home and collect dust? It’s the floor for the next appeal. The private property presumption is a big one.
I know one in CA. A terrorist and his wife shot him at a work event . where he was not allowed to carry . I know of another in TX. She lived but her parents died — she was a part of the CCW push across America .Exactly. What is the point of people going through the process of getting a permit, doing all these hoops, to only have that gun sit at home and collect dust?
I wonder how many pistol permit holders left their gun at home, to be "law abiding" and either died, got shot, or got severely injured (life threatening) because they followed the law. This we will never know.
Looks too be a three Judge panel.
Does the presumption still apply to private property in general , not just what is open to the public ?It did nothing in regard to sensitive or restricted locations OTHER THAN “private property open to the public.” Public property, Gov owned, bars, etc, still prohibited locations. For now.

For example , a permit holder is invited into a private home but doesn’t disclose and ask permission for his firearm to be allowed in too.

Ah, the law made an exemption. Sorry .my home is private property ..
please leave your guns in your automobile ..
including you too officer ..
Did they address gun free zones like Times Square?I’m guessing that the interpretation is left in favor of the State, rather than a full enjoining of the private property restriction. The 2nd Circuit specifically stated “private property open to the public” vs “all private property.” Makes ya wonder.
To the best of my limited knowledge, a no firearms sign carries no weight of law other than trespassing. It's presence wouldn't constitute some reinstatement of some portions of any CCIA.I look forward to seeing "no firearms" signs pop up so I know which businesses to avoid giving any of my money to.
No. All the answers are right there in the court documents if you truly care to learn for yourself, rather than taking some random guy’s word for it.Did they address gun free zones like Times Square?
Some aren't versed in legal speak so it may be a bit hard to read, or don't have time to read through 260 pages.No. All the answers are right there in the court documents if you truly care to learn for yourself, rather than taking some random guy’s word for it.
It’s hard to read it on a smartphone which is my internet connection for the next few days . I fall under the retired LE exception to a lot of CCIA already so I don’t have an all compelling need to do so for myself right now. But I would like to be able to have some quick knowledge and know how it affects my fellow citizens and CCW .No. All the answers are right there in the court documents if you truly care to learn for yourself, rather than taking some random guy’s word for it.

Someone specifically dedicated to being prepared for bidet rides would consider itFor what it’s worth- I think 98% of the members of this forum read it on their phones. I mean, seriously, who would drag a whole desktop setup into the bathroom so they can read while they ride the bidet???
I’m fairly sick of baby steps. They take away the majority of our rights and we get a small crumb back and the rest takes years to maybe get it back.Babe steps. A little progress, little forward movement, it's better than going basakwards which is what usually happens. Bet that bitch is fuk'n fuming right now... pull'n them eyebrows out.
Or get none back at all Ex- safe actI’m fairly sick of baby steps. They take away the majority of our rights and we get a small crumb back and the rest takes years to maybe get it back.
Skip en banc and move forward with the actual cases.I believe it would go to a En Banc panel of the 2nd Circuit before the SCOTUS..
We may no longer have a country in 2-3 years !Social media and the blanket carry ban were low hanging fruits. They were the least likely to survive. The second circuit would love had to bend the law really bad to uphold that. Now the hope is to let these cases get decided on their merit at the district level. Suddaby and Sinatra are two good judges. Maybe by spring we can get decisions and go back to the second circuit. We are about 3 years out before most of this gets settled but I am becoming more optimistic. I am also hopeful with the standard capacity magazine ban and assault weapon cases. In 2 to 3 years I hope we are looking better.
They didn’t have them before so why will they now?I look forward to seeing "no firearms" signs pop up so I know which businesses to avoid giving any of my money to.
