I don't know what to believe these days, lol. I'm not savvy to the history of the 2nd circuit. Have they always been democrat majority? If so, aren't Trumps appointments a significant change in the way the court will rule? Maybe some judges who won't buy Cuomo's BS? I get the cynicism, but why hobble yourself with defeatist thinking? It just might be possible that this change in the make up of the court could be a serious thorn in Cuomo's foot for the rest of his tenure. While he might be able to buy judges favor, he doesn't control who is appointed to the court. If Trump appointed good people, there is a chance the corruption of Albany won't affect them. Times do change and not just for the liberals.

This could be very big for us in New York. I just read an article and it sounds as if Trump just appointed a third justice to the second circuit, and without looking it up I think the remember that's all there is. So, if all three justices are Trump apointees on the 2nd circuit, we should expect better things for gun rights cases that go there. I will have to read up more on this.

Under past Senate convention, the Senate Judiciary Committee would not convene a confirmation hearing until senators return an opinion on a judicial nominee selected for a court in their state.

Liberal groups said the GOP disregarded Senate tradition for partisan advantage, though Republicans say the blue slip rule has been enforced irregularly in the modern period.

You may be thinking of how most cases are heard, with a panel of 3 judges (similar to one of the last case out of Hawaii for concealed carry) but then most cases will be heard en banc (all the judges)
