Anyone remotely this incompetent needs to be summarily fired immediately and anyone else in that person's chain of command that over saw an accounting boo-boo for a number that is 10 digits long. That doesn't happen by accident it should be checked and rechecked by multiple people.

I work in procurement/ sourcing for a fortune 500 company. This government incompetence blows my mind. If something like this happened in the private sector it would be earth shattering. I couldn't imagine reporting that to stockholders or the SEC.

The Pentagon announced Tuesday that the accounting error revealed last month was significantly more than previously stated and aid provided to Ukraine was overvalued by $6.2 billion rather than $3 billion.

Republicans fume that we haven't been spending more money faster:

“These funds could have been used for extra supplies and weapons for the upcoming counteroffensive, instead of rationing funds to last for the remainder of the fiscal year,” wrote House Foreign Affairs Chairman Michael McCaul and House Armed Services Chairman Mike Rogers in a statement last month, when the first $3 billion accounting error was publicly disclosed by the Pentagon.

That's fucking hilarious....
The error wasn't 2+2 = 3, it was "OK, they said we could give them 4 billion worth of stuff, so we'll figure out how much stuff we can buy for 4 billion, and send it over." then "Oopps, we bought that stuff 3 years ago, so let's count how much we spent on it THEN, YAY another 6 billion!"
It completely ignores how much it's going to cost to get our military back up to snuff when we have to replace all the hardware we sent over there. It's not a "mistake" it's an accounting gimmick so they can send more now, and spend more later.
