Garands use a less powerful 30-06 than normal commercial stuff. Can bend the op rod.

can get a different gas plug to use commercial grade. Check the garand owners website

I will keep this in mind. The guy I bought it from gave me the rundown on what ammo to outright avoid, but I hadn't thought there were any problems with commercial ammo overall

Be careful with using commercial ammo.
