35 Remington twist rate

I am building a Remington 700 in .35 Remington and am trying to figure out which which twist rate to get the barrel in. I am leaning toward 1-12. I don't believe there is any load data with a bullet heavier than 225 and I will be shooting bullets in the 150-200 range mostly. The barrel length is going to be 22 inches.

Is there any reason to go with the 1-10 or 1-14 over the 1-12?

12 or 14 inches twist will work great for the 35 Rem up to the typical 250gr spfb that is too much for the 35rem anyway.

BTW dsd, Rockey monutain were selling 357 200gr speer TMJs for 12-13 cents each.
So hurry up. Perfect for the 35 rem. The only issue one could have is having to seat a bit deeper depending on the freebore you have.
But amazing deal no matter what.

1:14 is plenty. 1:12 will work too obviously.
1:10 is only if you are going to shoot subsonic loads.
Just keep in mind one might loose speed with tighter than needed twists.

What are you doing for the bolt head in the Remington 700?

The 308 bolt face will work.

It should extract specially if you have a sako or Badger type extractor.
Not sure if you might experience some issues with the R700 factory type extractor.

Yeah I tried putting the round in a bolt the extractor grabbed it ok there was not too much play in it. I could always just get a bare receiver and order a PTG bolt with the correct dimension bolt face.
