4 shot, 1 killed - Not Guilty

He shot 4 men, killing 1, but turned down a plea deal. This month a Philly jury found him not guilty.

Armed? Nah, he should have to disarm and spend the entire night crisscrossing the streets of North Philly.

Seems like Mr. Kennedy handed that ADA her ass and saved his skin. She violated a cardinal rule of cross-examination: never ask a question when you don’t know the answer.

Good for him, but here’s the thing—too many defendants can’t testify like this. Their lawyers often rightfully urge them not to testify at all because they may not be so well spoken and they might have unrelated issues that could destroy them in cross-examination. Your right to self-defense shouldn’t hinge on being eloquent or having nothing prejudicial that an ADA could try to drag you for. He should never have been charged once the evidence showed that he was attacked by an armed gang of thugs for no fault of his own.
