.44 Bulldog

Anyone have any hands on experience with this gun? I have looked at these off and on for fifty years and for some reason never bought one, even though I used to reload for .44 special.
If its a piece of junk, or even a semi piece, I'm not interested, but its the ninth inning and If its a good quality hand gun I just might drop the dime. Any information will be appreciated.

I don't know much about it other than that Buffalo Bore specifically warns against using any of their .44 Special ammo in that revolver. I've heard some good and very bad things about them, but admittedly, I've never even touched one. I was very interested in their little Pitbull series that accepted .40 S&W without the need for moon-clips, but the rumors of bad quality and its being a really low priority deterred me from it.

I think they make it in a 3 inch barrel. Or did at least. I wouldn't mind having one of those. I have a stainless 9mm revolver that I really like but the grip is small for my large hands. The .44 grip is just enough larger to make the difference for larger hands.

I've had the 3" blued version for years. Mine is an early one, pre-1970. Never a problem with it when using Remington ammo or Glaser Safety Slugs.

My wife has the "under cover" in 38sp. Great little gun, I did replace the wood grips with larger rubber ones and removed the hammer and used the 'hammer less' kit sold by Charter Arms.

Yeah, the story has it the dogs gave him instructions, but he talked to the dogs.My friend Jerry worked the post office with him.He was a raving lunatic,used to always rant about conversations he had with his neighbors dog.They all expected him to come in one day and "go postal"
