Jerry is truly a legend in the shooting sports. I have some friends that have shot with him at matches and say he is truly a great guy, always willing to help others. Would love to take a class with him if ever afforded the opportunity.
What a legend! I've heard JM puts a heavy rebound spring in his revolvers to speed up the trigger reset. If that's true, that would also cause the double-action trigger to be even heavier than stock, which makes it all the more amazing.
I've tried rapid firing my 629 both dry and live. Even dry firing, the fastest I can work the trigger 6 times was just under 2 seconds. The couple of live fire cylinder dumps I tried with factory .44 mag about doubled that time. The heavy recoil makes it really hard to properly time releasing the trigger quickly. Rapid fire is pretty bad for the revolver and even worse for my hands, so I doubt I'll ever try that again!
