Agreed - I think the gas key on the BCG might hit the back of the receiver if you try to use a carbine buffer in a rifle buffer tube without a spacer.
You could also take the weights out of the rifle buffer. Knock the roll pin out, take out the plastic tip and the weights should come right out (put the tip and the roll pin back before using it, obviously). I've heard of people with lightweight, adjustable gas builds running empty carbine buffers for the weight savings. I don't see why you can't do the same with a rifle buffer.

Do you have a cell phone that has slow mode recording mode on the camera? When I had a 5.56 AR that wasn’t cycling right I suspected it was short stroking. I had a buddy shoot the gun while I recorded video in slow mode from the side, with the camera zoomed in on the ejection port. By reviewing the footage I was able to confirm that it was short stroking and this under gased
I hadn't thought of a spacer, great idea.
Have to see what I can use for that.
I much prefer the A2 stock over the adjustable carbine style stock.

Unless you have a spacer to make up the length going from standard buffer to a shorter one in your buffer tube you will damage your gun. The bolt carrier will be allowed to travel too far rearward and will damage the carrier key and the buffer tube itself.
There is nothing wrong running a rifle length buffer system with a carbine gas system. The buffer/spring weight or the gas system may have to be adjusted but it is perfectly safe and will function properly once everything is adjusted accordingly.
do not run short buffers with out spacers in your tube. You are asking for damage and more troubles.
I did not catch that he used an A2 stock. I have seen a few 50 Beowulf ship with standard buffers and the heavier buffers solved the problem. My point was just to to look at other possibilities before messing with the gas system when there is no apparent parts defect.

it is not an aero. It is made by Davidson. Not the same thing at all. It is a marketing ploy. One part may be aero. But not the barrel, gas tube, gas block etc.....the parts that are the issue.

I have a Bushmaster factory 450 upper and run a rifle stock and buffer without issue.
I recommend going of the forum "450Bushmaster.net" and ask the experts.

That's a pretty big jump. I don't think messing with buffer weights and springs would've gotten you there.
