It is actually one of my friends guns. He needs ammo reloaded for it so I will.e buy g the dies and he will buy the brass, bullets and powder for them.
I'd assume all 455 ammo is the same. I see there are different versions of the gun.
He has a WW1 Smith & Wesson officers model revolver. I found every thing we need to get ammo loaded for him.
I'm going to buy the Lee dies for just around $40, the Redding dies are like $175.
No it isn't. I honestly don't know that much about it, besides it's history, but that much is clear just from the wikipedia page. .455 Webley - Wikipedia
Also, just a quick note, I don't believe there is any S&W chambered in .455 that would have been known as an Officers model. It's almost certainly an MKII Hand Ejector, and probably chambered for .455 MK I .
I don't load this one but you can ask questions if you want.
One doesn't need to necessarily know how to reload one specific one to be able to provide guidance even with less popular choices.
I guess depending on what the questions are but there are folks that have been reloading for a long time.
I designed a few cartriges (cats) and load for another good number of them. I will be happy to give feedback if I can.
I will take a trip over to his place this weekend and check his gun out. I don' want to pick up the wrong set of dies in an odd ball caliber like this one. Chances are I will never need them. We both have 32 remington rifles that we will be buying brass for, I am going to buy the dies.
I stopped by Cabelas on the way home tonight and bought two six packs of the Lock N Load die bushings for these new dies I will be buying and for a couple of calibers I want to start loading.
That 455 webley shouldn't have much recoil. I picked him up a little 12 round box of cartridges if they work. I'll find out in a few days I guess.
