47 hour Armed Guard Course and Pistol advise/suggestion

Hello,

I plan on purchasing my first handgun, and was looking at the Sig Sauer X5 Legion 9mm pistol. I wanted to know if any of you have, or have exposure to this firearm. Would this be a good duty firearm?

When off duty, would I be able to CCW this appendix? If so, what holster would be a good choice?

Assuming you mean the Sig 320 X5 Legion and not the P226. I would say it's not a great choice. It's set up to be more of a competition gun. I know guys carry full-size guns and it's doable if you're determined to carry a big boat anchor. My issue is mostly with the sights setup. They're adjustable rear with a fiber-optic front. If you want a Sig 320 more optimized for duty/carry with all the fixin's, I'd say go for the P320 XCarry Spectre or XCompact Spectre. Those give you a little size and weight savings, night sights, and an optics cut to mount a red dot.

Thank you and yes in my mind I thought I specified the model (P320), lol. One of the reasons I considered the P320 is Sportsmans had one available for sale; and after holding the P320 and a couple other models the p320 just felt good. Although I am not hard set on the P320. I did consider the P226 for many reasons, and may consider to go that route. I will need to look into the XCarry Spectre and XCompact you suggested. I should probably see if either the Firing Pin, or On Target have one of the mentioned models for me to hold and potentially fire on their range.
