Lol I have the opposite problem all I find is non green tip. The 55 gr American eagle in 120 pack seems to be the best deal I can find locally for plinking ammo.

Just about any place like Cabellas or Gander, or any LGS should have 55gr m193 as well as the 62gr M855. For plinking either of those are just fine.

That is about 2moa which is about what you can expect from the run of the mill FMJ ammo. It should do better with some 69 grain BTHP match ammo
Look at it this way, against a human you would be putting those rounds all in the space of an eye socket. That's very adequate in my book.
With the proper ammo it should do this or better at 100 yards.
What size group would consider good offhand at 25 yards?
Depends upon how old you are. If your my age 8 inches if you are my son's age 1 inch. Lol
My off hand groups at 100 yards with iron sights for both my Garand and M1A are about 10 inches for 10 shots. I don't do slow fire my nickname is machinegun at our service rifle matches.
38 with good eyesight. I will be hitting the range later and I will be posting a couple reports for site content. I just wanted a baseline to shoot for. You will not be seeing 1" groups from me that's for sure
Well now you were mixing apples and oranges (handgun and rifle) handguns at 25 yards I strive for a fist sized group slow fired from any handgun.
No I meant rifle. I will be taking both. I will s hoot handguns at 7 yards and the rifle at 25. That's all the further the range goes. Rifle is a Daniels Defense M4v11. My marksmanship is poor but I hope everyone enjoys the reports nonetheless. I think I'll bring the 10/22 as well.
The thing with shooting rifles off hand is muscle fatigue, the heavier the rifle the quicker fatigue sets in.
AR is pretty light 6.25 lbs. I usually become fatigued from the heat before my arms get tired.
