I cant see why in the world a 30 year detective would intentionally lie to harm innocent people .
That doesn't make any sense to me. The guy is ready to retire. What does make sense is that he made a mistake In which two people were killed and multiple officers shot and the dept. Threw him under the bus.

It was just a case of the wrong house. The backup drugs in the cruiser was in case it was flushed down the toilet at the right house. They would have planted it at the wrong house but since the owner fought back causing them to retreat and a police response from other units had to come that weren't in on it, they weren't able to use it to justify the killing.

I think it was just the wrong house AB. If you watch the press conference, Chef Acevedo describes the right house to a tee that had a similar address. They just won't admit that they hit the wrong house and are tripping over themselves.

I was skeptical of the wrong address theory because the warrant described the house and the nearest intersections . And of course, Unmentioned ,Officers observation of the house. It seemed extremely unlikely this could be so .

But Now Im faced with the story that the lead officer lied for no other reason than to arrest or kill these two people for no known reason. Orrrrrrr. He had just made a mistake on the street names, Those are the two choices Im faced with .Most likely being a mistake.

We would need much more info, including surveillance, before hitting a house like this. CI info alone would never trigger a warrant here for drugs.

Chief Acevedo mentions ""Hardy street"" 3 times in his first presser. The raid was on Harding street. Its not like a chief to get that information wrong in such a situation .

It could very well have been a lie on the house they were supposed to hit with real perps in it to get them but even with that lie, the wrong house was hit. Maybe it was proven that he lied for the right house so they'll run with it for the wrong house to save face. I don't know. We can only speculate but investigations into the 2 killed showed no criminal history and their social media profiles show nothing but love for the military, police, and Trump.

And I'm not for lying to get the perp. If you accept that, then you have to accept it for everything else and I think that's what happening here to save face in the killing of an innocent family.

also .. since the so called tip to the lead investigator was there was lots of smack there ..

why didn't they case the place first and see who is coming and going ??

Tell the truth to a perp and show them respect and they’ll almost always respect you back, more so than the retard public that just reflexively hates cops because they are told to.

My impression is that Officer Goines,and other officers Did not follow procedures and observe the house. I suspect, he relied on a high confidence source ,maybe one he worked many times with for years. There was a mix up in the relaying of the address and they went to the wrong house.

Chief Acevedo, who's dept does not have stellar record, decided his dept. could not handle the extra heat , and Threw this officer under the bus for the sake of his dept. and maybe his own career.

I don't know if thats true or not, but it looks like that to me.

Lie about?

That means the warrant and the address were accurate.

None of the informants claimed they bought drugs there.

HOUSTON – A lead investigator lied in an affidavit justifying a drug raid on a Houston home in which two residents were killed and four undercover officers were shot and wounded during a gun battle, the city's police chief said Friday.

But according to an affidavit filed as part of the ongoing investigation into the raid and made public Friday, the informant told investigators he or she had not bought any drugs at the home and had not been involved in any work leading up to the raid.

Goines was one of the four officers who were shot in the gunfight that killed 59-year-old Dennis Tuttle and 58-year-old Rhogena Nicholas, who both lived in the home.

Investigators also spoke with several other informants who had previously worked with Goines and all said they had not bought drugs at the home, according to the affidavit.

The heroin allegedly bought at the home had been obtained elsewhere, according to the affidavit.

The informant had allegedly been working with the lead investigator in the case, who was identified in the affidavit as Officer Gerald Goines.

Acevedo said. "So, we know already there's a crime that's been committed. A high probability there will be a criminal charge."

Acevedo said his department's investigation has yet to determine what charges Goines could face.

Warrant states that knocking and announcing presence would be futile and dangerous to officers and are authorized to dispense with knocking and announcing before executing warrant .

In that warrant, the informant allegedly returned to Goines with a brown powder substance, telling him that it was called "boy," which is slang for heroin. The confidential informant also said the substance he allegedly bought at the home was packed in a large quantity of plastic baggies.

In the warrant, the sergeant says that Officer Gerald Goines, of HPD’s Narcotics Division, provided officers, including a high-ranking narcotics division supervisor, two different names of confidential informants. The warrant stated the two officers “interviewed all of the confidential informants and all denied making a buy for Goines from the Harding Street residence, and ever purchasing narcotics from Nicholas or Tuttle.”

(Of course they didn't if it was the wrong address) That doesn't mean Goins lied .

Acevedo:It's important for people to realize and remember that we still have the video from our patrol units, the cad calls, everything that set into motion this series of events. Having said that, when you lie in an affidavit or you mislead in an affidavit, that is a very serious offense and it's a serious criminal offense."

Chief Acedvdo Appears to be saying that because the informants denied buying drugs from that address Goins Lied on the affidavit. But on video he refutes his own charges when he says drugs were bought from the house.

I still think they hit the wrong house. That's why the informants say that they didn't buy drugs from "that house" or "those people" but they won't admit it.

Weapons recovered were also not drug dealer weapons. They were Fudd guns. Also the .357 revolver that was allegedly used against them wasn't listed.

Acedvedo's story is inconsistent, He said Hardy st 3 times in his press report, He said drugs were purchased at the house, He said police did announce themselves , then said his dept would stop the no knock warrants,
