Do you remember some of the things Cuomo has said about our rifles?
“Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it”.
"No one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer!"
“Their problem is not me and the Democrats; their problem is themselves. Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and they’re the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.”
"It misses the mark, pardon the pun, to put out a plan that doesn't ban assault weapons, with what we've seen."
Well, here we are, still buying and making rifles that function pretty much the same as they did 5 years ago, minus the 30 round magazines.
Registration was a failure, with realistically what is probably less than a 1% compliance rate.
I have no doubt that Cuomo actually thought he could get rid of a lot of the AR15's and AK47's, and yet, they are still available at gun shows and gun stores all across the state. I am sure there are more now in this state than when the SAFE Act was passed. This is American ingenuity, and the defiance of the gun owner, at it's finest. We will not roll over for a tyrant.
Banning pieces of plastic did not stop us. The point of my assault stick was to show just how absurd it is to ban plastic pieces that are attached to an inanimate object, that this somehow makes the item in question more dangerous. It didn't stop me or anyone else from buying more AK's or AR's.
But let Cuomo try and take it to the next step, by banning any semi-automatic rifle, or even trying to make us register every single one of them. If he thinks compliance was low before, well... I think I can guarantee we will have a surprise for him!
Oh yeah.... FUAC!
