I'm definitely worse finically now than I was last year. However, I attribute it more to open borders for illegal border crossers, defunding police, catch and release, supply chain issues, and also inflation.

As far as being worse off financially. I can say with 100% certainty that I'm worse off and every single person in this country is too. Yes, that's 100% of the population is worse off. Even if your name is Bezos, Gates, Pelosi (gag me), everyone. Just because they make lots more money. Invest differently. Trade on inside information. They still have to buy the same things we buy. Their dollars, even if they are in the billions, buys less today than they bought a year ago. So it doesn't necessarily affect them like it does the average citizen, but they buy less with their billions also. So they are worse financially, it just doesn't mean as much to them.

And just because someone got a big raise this year doesn't mean inflation affected them less. Even big raises buys less today. That raise is worth less today than it was worth a year ago.
