I've been seeing a lot of people here crotchchester with hoodies, high 80's low 90s and I saw one dude not only with black sweat pants but a hoodie to and he was tying the hood! Is it some kind of fad like leaving your ass crack hang out or are these "newcomers" that feel chilly?

Oh, Fashion is another quirky thing up in NY.

Now granted, I come from a hot climate, so I chuckle when clothes become really minimal when it’s, like, 78* in NY. Y’all can’t handle heat I’m down in Texas visiting my Ma and mowed her lawn in muggy mid-90s down here in Texas. Try that! But hoodies and face coverings are year round popular for reasons I don’t understand up north. The “Shiesty” is another (I think that’s what they’re called). But don’t let people see your feet! Must wear sneakers or crocs! Oh man, crocs are an epidemic in the Northeast. Except for the shiesty though, none of that is really restricted to any skin colour.

I’d never have expected a thread on shootings to be a place to vent my culture shock/curiosity.

I have no problem with that. One less statistic to club us with. If they used these stats in a productive manner, I'd be Ok with it but we all know who they want to go after, and it's not the people having the "mostly peaceful" BBQ, house party, or fiery protest.
