Our constitution will not exist as it is in 20 years.....maybe less.
I recently saw a poll where the results were that 60% of 18-25 year olds believe the constitution should be adjusted to reflect current times.
And 48% think that it could be completely rewritten.
I know poll numbers suck but it does show that many of the younger generation are willing to change or abolish our constitution.
Our rights are more in danger now than ever.
In a few years we may not have it at all.
And before I get smacked around.....I do know that a majority vote cannot change the constitution but if the majority agree, the constitution can be amended.

The insurrection act was unconstitutional in 1807 and it is unconstitutional today. Its up to the people to protect themselves and their property. Love how government carves out exemptions to the rules when ever the hell it suits them.

Yep. We weren’t supposed to have standing armies at all. No National Guard either. It was always supposed to be state militias. Volunteers made up of the people themselves.

And to go even further as far as law enforcement goes, police weren’t even supposed to exist state according to many state constitutions. It was supposed to be an Elected Sheriff and his deputies so that the people themselves can elect and control law enforcement.

The sad thing is that over years the government got to big, threw the constitution aside and did what they wanted anyway . Now people just accept it because it’s always been like that for them.

Now they accept federal police and federal armies, National Guards, and all unconstitutional laws that are currently enforced.

We should really apologize to Great Britain. We created a government that started out good and turned it worse than Great Britain themselves.

As the First Congress entered its final day on September 29, 1789, now-President Washington insisted that the lawmakers pass an Act clarifying the Army’s role under the new Constitution.


Back on August 7, President Washington wrote to Congress to remind them that legislation was needed to replace the outdated part of the Articles that pertained to the military.


“I am particularly anxious it should receive an early attention as circumstances will admit; because it is now in our power to avail ourselves of the military knowledge disseminated throughout the several States by means of the many well instructed Officers and soldiers of the late Army; a resource which is daily diminishing by deaths and other causes,” Washington wrote.

Doesn't the fact we have to use, or potentially use, military weapons to protect people give more reason for why citizens should have them? It's one thing for politicians to say "no one needs an AR-15" when things are quiet. It's not a valid argument, but it holds more weight.

But when people are burning down cars and homes and businesses, and the police can't be everywhere at once (just a fact), it's hard to make the case people shouldn't be able to defend themselves against this sort of garbage.

Maybe people change their minds a little on 2A after all this.

But the thing that made him great was recognizing the power came from the ability to apply force, that no change has ever come by "asking" nicely...! So, it was him, and him alone that returned the troops to Congress, and assured that the new and fragile Government, comprised of people's representatives, have the power! This single act of selflessness, allowed our country to become what it was then, and progress to today. But don't ever forget, that he was for all intensive purposes, a "King" who refused the throne!

Don't forget, he set the "2 terms" limit, which was just tradition and not codified into law until Roosevelt decided he wanted to be king. After he died we decided to put a stop to that shenanigans and put it in writing.

But all presidents before Roosevelt just followed that limit on the honor system.
