Is it possible to buy a pistol frame, such as a Glock, 1911, ect in NYS?

How do you go about putting it on your permit, since it won't have a caliber, and in the case of a Glock won't have a model number either since that is dependent on caliber and configuration?

I've thought about building a Glock clone w/ Timberwolf/Lone Wolf parts, have also toyed with the idea of building a 1911 at some point.

You would have to supply the caliber, etc that you were going to build it into when you add it to your permit, but other than that, it should be the same as anything else.

Not sure about the name of the manufacturer for those handgun frames or the serial numbers, but that would need to be included on the permit.

If you have no urge finishing a lower they sell stripped and full assembled Glock lowers. Both of these configurations would have serial numbers. Considering the state we live in legal pistols out of an 80% is kind of a silly idea. As far as adding them I don't see how it would be any different than a normal handgun you just need your ffl to get on board with the proper paperwork.

Yes I have done it several times. I had to provide the length of barrel and caliber I was building it into to my gun dealer for the receipt to take to the pistol office. I still have one waiting some parts to be complete. One day I will finish it.
