I've been obsessing about this gun. I know not NY legal but it might be what pushes me over the edge for pistol carbine. Anyone have any input or dealers for AR lowers that take Glock magazines?

Why isn't it NY legal if you make it a fixed magazine?
I would imagine loading 9mm through the ejection port would be next to impossible.

Why can't you open the upper and top load?
Still would need a lead on a good lower.

I'm not sure it might be hard to load even with splitting it open. I'm not sure if there's room enough to load with the way the magazine interacts with the lower.

I don't like this for many reasons.
Number one, even in NY with the stupid existing laws, I can already have a loaded 300 blackout pistol ready to go that fits inside my backpack in a smaller package when it's fully assembled and loaded. The 9mm pistol assembled and ready to go is too big for what it offers. I'd have a 9mm loaded with an extra magazine already. I would hate to have to assemble anything when seconds count and adrenalin is pumping when I can pull something else out that's ready to go. I'd rather have ftx defensive 300 blackout rounds, better accuracy, and more devastating velocities and wound channels. The recoil on a 9mm ar-15 isn't all that low generally either in a pistol format. The difference from my 300 blackout and 9mm isn't much different. You still have that big bolt coming back on the 9mm creating quite a bit of blowback induced recoil. I simply don't care about folding something into a ziplock bag. When I need it, I need it now, loaded and ready. If SHTF in NY, we all know how easy it is to install a magazine release. This applies to me in a free state like arizona when I'd be backpacking too, the 9mm loses for me in all accounts. If it was something better like a scorpion evo or HK mp5k variant, then you have the advantage of something smaller, more controllable, chambered, less recoil and that can fold up nicely too without having to be assembled. Getting back into the legality and practicality of NY, looks like we have a decent option now instead of carrying extra magazines, we can carry an AR pistol in a backpack with the new stripper clip style side loaders filled and ready to load relatively quickly.
