I don't agree with any of it. Especially the person may be dangerous to themselves.
It should not be the discretion of law enforcement or court to decide this. This sides on the same lines as abortion.
I also feel as if the police and courts in general act too much like unlicensed mental health counselors as of late. I see that a lot in body cam footage and from friends that are work in the field.

No idea. Then again, look at the scheme we have here in NYS. Why NYS hasn't been de-funded for disobeying federal rulings is beyond me.
It doesn't surprise me one bit this garbage keeps on passing.

That hasn’t changed. Police have been on the front line of the mental health for more than hundred years . It’s why the police have the power to involuntarily make someone go for a psychological evaluation . I would go to such a call three or four times in a slow week .
