I see those posts too. You can't, nor should you try to, please everyone. Obviously, there are times when cops do great things, and then there are times when they commit heinous acts. People should just deal with it.

But the problem is, literally nobody is saying "cops never do any good things ever." They just make that up to pretend to be persecuted, because the truth of the constant atrocities in the profession doesn't connect with them.
Again, you are not wrong. Cops do have a shitty job though. It isn't one I would want. Does that give them the right to act like assholes? Of course not. I think there are plenty of them that were assholes before even going to the academy, only to be amplified by the addition of badges and guns.
They chose the job though, so the "tough job" excuse has always fallen flat with me.
Guys chose to work on oil rigs too. Sure as fuck that's a tough job. Would you want to deal with the garbage of society? I will pass. People chose jobs without a full grasp of how tough and/or even fatal they can be.
They can't. Too much power. Most cops join in their 20's for that power when their mind isn't fully mature yet. Then it f goes to their head and they can't give it up to just be a union carpenter for example.
The guys I knew that worked on the oil rig liked it and the money was good. Still tough.
