A couple of questions from a newbie...

Hi all. I have a few questions. I live in NYC and just got my approval letter for a target permit. Bright and early Monday morning, I'll be at 1PP to get my purchase order and then hopefully buying a gun to have inspected the same day to avoid a second trip. I know when transporting any guns to and from the range that they have to be in a locked box or case. So my question is;

Do I have to have the gun in a box like a Pelican type case? Is there a lockable range bag that's permissible to use in NYC? If so, I'd love some suggestions.

I'd also appreciate and recommendation on eye and ear protection and anything else I might need for the range.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Use a hard case and a trigger lock. I have heard they will give you problems if it's anything else than a trigger lock, like a cable lock or magazine lock.
