The intent is good, but when given an inch the govt will take a mile.

They already have many real gun records so gun safe records are less threatening. They are taking digital copies from FFLs when they do an inspection and they can then run those pictures through a program to make a sortable spreadsheet.

I agree that the government has no duty to fund any right. However it is also not in their purview to mandate the manner of how you choose to store your firearms.
