The American Psychological Association on Thursday released a study claiming a link between racism and support for the Second Amendment.

The study argues that White Americans who expressed high levels of anti-Black sentiments associated gun rights with White people and gun control with Black people. This was determined by research participants being quicker to match photos of White people to gun rights phrases such as "self-protection" and "National Rifle Association" and photos of Black people to gun control phrases such as "waiting period" and "weapons ban."
The study consisted of just 88 White Americans, 38 women and 50 men, 30% of whom were gun owners and an even split between Republicans and Democrats. In addition to the photo matching test, two questions were asked to participants to gage "racial resentment"; "Irish, Italians, Jewish, and many other minorities overcame prejudice and worked their way up. Black people should do the same without any special favors," and "It’s really a matter of some people not trying hard enough; if Black people would try harder they could be just as well off as White people".

I'll wager the psychologist and researchers doing the study are a bunch of white snob liberals.

Interesting when I've attended several NRA conventions in Pittsburgh and Indianapolis over the years there were a number of Black, Asian and Hispanic persons in attendance. You have to be a NRA member in order to gain entrance. Oh yeah, wild women in attendance too.

Liberals love to talk out their asses, closest to the shit they make up.

Like I'd ever agree to sit for a test these morons make up. They can rig elections, they can rig studies like this.

I saw this article and was thinking about posting it but what's the point? I don't need some study to try to convince me 2A supporters are racist. I've got the whole political media machine to do that. But now I can't resist. Gee, thanks Livingston.

The problem with these studies is that they all begin with a preconceived theory (bias) and build the study around "proving" the theory. Do these studies ever disprove a theory? They move towards advancing a narrative, but rarely unraveling it. They paint a bullseye around the arrow and assume they have hit the target. They almost always lack broader context. And probably the biggest fault is that they do not properly establish universally understood definitions.

What they call "racism" in these studies is really a function of discrimination applied to a narrow set of parameters. Human beings are natural discriminators. It is a manifestation of our natural survival instinct and how we have survived as a species for 200K+ years. We learned throughout our evolution to make associations between good and bad based on observation, that is what discrimination is. We learned the blue berry is good, the red berry will kill you. But context matters. And we learned to apply that discrimination contextually. Otherwise we would have applied it to everything, but obviously we know that is not true because the red party is good and the blue party will kill you.

No matter how hard you try not to, all humans will discriminate, even the most unicorn-loving-rainbow-farting-kumbaya-singing leftist. Some just hide it better than others; it's why virtue-signaling is a thing. They twist the "findings" to claim a "racist" connection. They equate the way a person discriminates (again, that natural thought function based upon observation and experience) with being "racist". But they fail to establish what exactly "racism" is at the outset. Define that first, please. IMO what I may think or how I may discriminate does not define who or what I am. If I just thought about baking does that make me a baker? No. I am also quite capable of diverging from any discriminatory observation by having black friends, voting for black people or helping a black person in need. Nor do I worry about being the victim of the "knockout game" standing in line next to an elderly black woman or man. Should that even be possible for a racist or is that just white shame at work? (Even breaking from their convention is a negative with these lunatics!)

So, if I observe a small minority of society as being disproportionately responsible for crime, that makes me a "racist"? And the King is not wearing any clothes. So, it is my powers of observation that is the problem? Why not blame it on math and CCTV? The truth is that the problems are socioeconomic, largely brought on by leftist programming and policy. But the educated class doesn't want to take responsibility for that...much easier to find fault with us being human beings (maybe David Icke is right and they are all shape-shifting lizard people, lol).

"An attempt to politically weaponize racist beliefs expressed toward Black lawful gun owners would be shortsighted and could dangerously infringe upon the rights of Black people instead of focusing on saving lives from gun violence." They just had to insert "lawful" in there...racists!

Coming from people who think that men can become pregnant and that rampaging mobs are mostly peaceful protests, is it surprising that they equate law-abiding constitutionalists with racists?
