I write to you today with a sense of urgency and a plea for your support.

If you are a sportsman, firearm owner, or someone who cares about our constitution, YOUR rights are under attack! The next infringement on our rights will likely be comingthis Monday, January 28 in Albany. Your state government - dominated by New York City radicals - plans to vote on many more measures to restrict gun ownership and claw away the rights of law-abiding citizens.

New York already has the strictest gun laws in the nation. Apparently, the SAFE Act wasn’t enough of an infringement on our constitutional freedoms: downstate progressives are bent on pushing NEW LAWS to make it as costly, inconvenient, and restrictive as possible to purchase, own, store, transfer, or sell firearms and accessories.

Here are some of the measures they plan to tackle.

I feel
Like Ortt is one of the true good ones left. He constantly speaks out and sends emails like this. He was targeted by a false claim of wrong doing to try to get rid of him because of this. It was proven false and thrown out by a judge.

Thinking about his letter for a bit, he's only saying his hands are tied and we're at the mercy of the dems. Well...sounds like he's just being a "pal" to cover his own behind for next election. I hadn't heard of him leading a coalition of NY legislatures to drop the crap act before the last election. Where was the communication then ?

He wasn’t elected to the senate until 2015 after the crap act passed. So he couldn’t lead the charge against it.
Also the democrats are in charge so even if ever republican in the assembly and senate voted against every bit of gun control it would still pass. I think he’s just saying there’s nothing he can do and letting us know what’s coming.

I didn’t live in NYS at the time. Likely an effort in futility, but what else can be done?
