So, here we have it folks, the establishment of a New Class of Citizen, One who is by this proposal, somehow special and deserved of privilege not extended to the common folk! Love how even though he recognizes the Restrictive Laws in D.C., he thinks Elected Politicians somehow have more of a need than anyone walking next to him! Simply amazing these people!

Let them have their cake and eat it too!

Can think of a number of things they should eat, but most if posted, would lead to prison time.

There's America and then there's "Their America" where they get elected by those they're supposed to serve and promptly enjoy benefits and privileges only reserved for the few. You know, kinda like royalty....and their subjects.

There may be a very good upside to this. The House and Senate members, and staff (?) are all jocked up; locked and loaded, Ready To Rumble!!!!!

As we can observe easily, we are becoming a large "banana republic" rather rapidly.

Shake and bake the present antipathy within the 2 groups, add that they are now armed, as well as being untrained (Training? We don' need no stinkin' training!) douche nozzles.

They go "full banana republic" some day and - Bazinga!! - swamp drained!!

They can carry if they go through the same riga-marow the average citizen has and to also honor all the laws and no gun zones in their State. Their permit should be as good as ours in another State also. (NO GOOD) Then I support their carry.

WASHINGTON — A Republican congressman who survived the horrific baseball shooting will offer legislation this week to allow lawmakers to carry guns throughout the nation’s capital.

“I’m going to be introducing legislation this week … to allow congressmen to carry a sidearm, should they so desire,” Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

Members of Congress are “high-profile targets, but we have absolutely no way to defend ourselves because of Washington, DC’s rather restrictive gun laws.”

Brooks said the legislation would allow members of Congress to be armed in places throughout Washington where average citizens typically cannot carry guns.

What's good for one is good for all. You're not entitled royalty, laws are not only for the little people. YOU REPRESENT THE CITIZENS, you are not above them. You are supposed to be glorified public servants.

I have such an issue with so many of his statements...

How about doing your fucking job and remove all restrictive laws against all people?

“I want congressmen to be treated as if they were law enforcement,” Brooks said, “given that we are high-profile targets for the bad guys, the lone wolves, the terrorists.” You are not LE, and even if you were, again why the special class?

My issue is NOT that they want to be armed...

Hell, all of America should be armed if they chose; my issue is they are the ones who have taken or allowed others to take away, the Gun Rights of fellow Americans.

Each and Every American is a target. Each person is a high value citizen. A job should not make you more important than others.

Everything they do in Washington is something that benefits them, they do not care about the everyday Joe blow!!

They want to change the rules so it suits/ protects them. Why, because they're suppose to be better than us? More important than us?
So they want the freedom to carry as they wish ( 2nd amendment- the right to bear arms.. right?)
They can GO F... THEMSELEVES. SOB's !!!

BUT it doesn't matter if "tax paying" law abiding citizens are victims of crime.
What about the girl that got raped & murdered.
What about the father that was on his way home to his family, when he got shot to death in a robbery.

Already is one. Isn't killing a cop a bigger punishment under safe than a non-cop? I just never thought my life was worth less than another's due to their employment.

Just like healthcare. The people with the best (free) coverage available get to decide what coverage the rest of us can have. More of the same. At some point they need to live as "equals" with the rest of us. Not that I expect to live to see it.
