I think the writer of this article is spot on. The NRA is basically willing to cave on just about anything now and will pick and choose their battles (how much have they done to undo the SAFE Act?). A lot of ranges will require an NRA membership, or at least the ones I was looking into before I settled on one. So, having the lifetime membership at least isn't a total loss for me, as it'll be useful.

Still, I agree. My support isn't going towards the NRA specifically anymore. I don't see them making big pushes against the unSAFE act at all. Until they start fighting on the front lines of gun rights, and not pussying out, I'd rather support GOA or other orgs than them.

I have been saying this for years, The NRA just keeps giving out rights away. Thats why Im a member of the GOA. They don't compromise.

The NRA wants $25 to be a member, for that, you get two magazines ( and they cost a lot of money to publish) and a trinket, either an NRA pocket knife or a duffle bag or some other piece of shit. So of that $25, only about $8 dollars go to actual NRA business. granted, these are estimates on my part, but they are fairly accurate. Then the NRA relies on donations, which after that statement from Wayne are going to be dropping like a stone.

Join the Second Amendment Foundation or Gun Owners of America. Your money will be better spent

Are they affiliated with the national org at all? Do you know if they have any meetings on the eastern portion of the state? Would take me a good 5 or 6 hours to get out there each time.

They are affiliated with national org. Only meeting location I know of is the one listed. I believe local chapters could be organized.

The SCOPE president and chairman of the board sold us out. Niagara SCOPE chapter founding membership is looking at forming a GOA chapter. Monroe County SCOPE may be migrating to a GOA chapter. Erie SCOPE gave the central board the finger, still SCOPE but not kissing central commands ass. They're trying to find a replacement for next springs election. I could see a GOA chapter starting in Erie.

Doing nothing is not an option, GOA in my future. I don't see SCOPE president or chairman of board pulling heads out of their asses.

Hugely annoyed with SCOPE as I saw them as a good alternative to NYSRPA. Donated a fair amount if money too. I guess you can't trust any State level 2A orgs anymore.
